Fascism

If you could erase one trend from history, what would it be?

Trend would be Fascism in Germany, Italy, England.

In Europe and around the globe.

Why?

The Mother of all questions for sure.

Because it is built on arrogance and ignorance.

And this mixture is very very dangerous.

With the Rise of right wing movements around the world, I have started to question our school systems around the globe.

Why do young people follow right wing or extremists who preach Hate?

Power Games?

Why do we have to change the way we try to teach?

These are some of the questions I am following having retired from the active school service in Lower Saxony in North Germany.

Fifa 2026

Teams stripping down to black and white kits as a visual statement.

It started making headlines around 2004, when several national sides wore black and white in a show of support for the fight against racism. The Dutch and Portuguese swapped their usual colours that night, and the Italians wore “United against racism” t-shirts before kickoff.

The idea carried into UEFA EURO 2008, where FARE (Football Against Racism in Europe) ran it as an organised campaign with pitch-side boards, captain’s armbands, and a branded TV spot — headlined “Unite Against Racism”, developed with UEFA and FIFPro’s backing.

The semiotics are worth noting: stripping the game’s colour-coded tribalism (club colours, national colours) down to black and white removes the very visual markers that usually divide fans, and repurposes that same monochrome as a stand-in for racial “black and white” — the literal palette doing double duty as metaphor. It’s a fairly elegant piece of Gebrauchssprache, if you want to think of it that way — the strip’s meaning only exists in that specific use-context, exactly the kind of case Wittgenstein would have liked.

Why Games and Music unite, while Religion devides!

Teile und herrsche!
