The Indigenous Voice is not the only issue more important than the symbolism of becoming a republic (“Indigenous Voice trumps republic: company leaders”, September 13). So is the practical need to amend the Constitution to provide fixed four-year terms for the House of Representatives and eight-year terms for the Senate.
